Recourse Factoring: The Freight Funding Difference
Recourse factoring: Who's It For?
The trucking company maintains responsibility with recourse factoring for the final collection of the invoice. Because this carries less risk, recourse factoring is generally possible at a reduced rate. The factor buys a freight invoice from a trucking company, but for a range of reasons (e, file bankruptcy, company withdrawal, load claims / dispute, etc) it may become uncollectible and result in the trucking company getting recharged. This makes recourse factoring a viable option for companies that prefer to manage their fleets and cashflow with the added benefit of liquidity and up front capital.
